About the Journal
The Journal of Injury & Illness Prevention in Sport (JiiPS) is a gold, open-access journal committed to advancing research in sports medicine, athlete health, injury epidemiology, prevention, and rehabilitation. Our mission is to accelerate the translation of high-quality, impactful research into practice by offering a faster, fairer, and more transparent publishing experience to authors and reviewers.
We challenge traditional publishing delays with a model that puts researchers first:
- Fast-track decisions: Authors receive an initial editorial decision within 1 week, and peer-reviewed decisions within 4 weeks.
- Reviewer compensation: We pay expert reviewers for timely, unbiased reviews.
- Open submission format: No strict formatting guidelines at initial submission letting authors focus on content, not compliance.
Aims & Scope
We publish original research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and editorials focused on:
-
- Sports therapy, injury & illness management, treatment and rehabilitation.
- Sports injury prevention, implementation and dissemination.
- Sports injury epidemiology and surveillance.
By combining speed, openness, and integrity, JiiPS aims to become the go-to platform for researchers, clinicians, and policy-makers seeking timely evidence that drives real-world impact.
